GPS stand for Gospel Presentation Seminar. This is where I present the gospel for about 45 minutes to make sure they understand the gospel and give them the opportunity to respond to Jesus’ invitation to follow Him. It is always exciting to see what God would do during that time.
Like 7 years ago, we used to have GPS every first Sunday of the month. People can sign up and participate during that time. Now, we make appointments for me to get together with them and I have the privilege of going through the gospel. Recently, I had led a grandma to the Lord and this past week, I led another lady to the Lord. I know for fact that many others have poured into their lives in sharing the love of Jesus and truth of Jesus from our church members and I get to put on the final link in a chain (or final brick in a wall) as they respond to the gospel and pray together. Leading people to the Lord (getting them saved) is a team sport and it is work of Holy Spirit.
We learn that from Luke 15 that heaven rejoices when a sinner repents and be found by the good shepherd (i.e. Jesus) and we rejoice with the heaven when someone says “yes” to Jesus. It is very exciting and we know and feel Jesus’ joy when this happens. We are so grateful that we get to minister to people who do not know Jesus and we wish that our church would grow through these people (who do not know Jesus) coming to know the Lord.
Before the GPS happens, I often ask for prayer. Prayer is so important because it aligns everyone in our church to the mission and will of Jesus. We want the mission of Jesus to go forward and Jesus’ will to be done. We pray for GPS during our wednesday night prayer meeting (wednesday night at 7pm at church).
Gospel is so wonderful news. Without the gospel, no one is able to goto heaven and through the gospel (Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross for our sins, being buried, and rising from the dead) our sins are cleansed and we are given the gift of eternal life by believing in that truth and receiving Jesus as your Savior and Lord. Gift is free. It is not a wage or bride. God’s way to accept us as His children was through His son (Jesus). 1 John 5:12 says that “Whoever has the Son has life’ whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life”. The emphasis is the Son (Jesus). It is accepting (receiving) Jesus as our Lord and Savior through the work of the Holy Spirit that gives us the right to become God’s children.
We praise God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit in working in people’s lives to save them and we desire many more non-Christians to have the opportunity to hear the gospel and respond to the gospel.
If you would like to schedule a time to hear the gospel or if you have a friend who wish to hear the gospel, feel free to reach out to me to make an appointment for GPS time.
Thank you and God bless.
